PST Computers provides solutions for nearly 4,000 South Florida businesses. For over 15 years, PST Computers has offered email, web-hosting and internet access to their customers. PST relies on IMail Server for email messaging needs not only for their own company, but also for their clients. Recently, PST Computers developed an irresolute and complicated problem with their email which required the assistance of the Ipswitch Messaging technical support team.

Quick and Efficient Technical Support

When Tim Guertin, Sales Manager for PST Computers called IMail Server technical support, he had no clue to the source of his email server problem. He only knew that his server had slowed to a point that even he could not send or receive an email from his own email address. "Because they are experts at what they do, the IMail Server technical support team at Ipswitch Messaging was able to promptly diagnose and correct this problem", says Guertin. "Our server was compromised and two of our email addresses were being used by spammers to send thousands of spam email from our server. This in turn, sent us into a near standstill situation."

"The technical support team logged in to our server and within 15 to 20 minutes they exposed the two compromised email addresses, and then blacklisted the spammers so they no longer had access to the addresses," explains Mr. Guertin.

According to Ipswitch's most recent Spamometer report, some 14.5 billion global spam messages are produced each day. Commtouch recently reported that ClickForensics, an innovative group based in Austin, published their quarterly review of click-fraud and declared that bots are committing over 25% of the fraudulent clicks.

Botnets are computers that have been compromised by spammers. Spammers remotely access the computers and generally run undetected. The IMail Tech Support team was able to help Guertin diagnose and resolve this issue before it became disastrous.
